While the list of vehicles on the market today still offering manual transmission is quickly going extinct, GM only offers 3 as of 2024, with only enthusiast minded cars being equipped. Today, we will explore the last 10 that GM still offers or did offer in the past.

Now it its 3rd model year, the CT5-V Blackwing serves as GM’s final hurray for the V-Series performance sub brand’s gas models. Following the previous 3rd gen CTS-V's shift to automatic-only transmission (2016-2019), the manual gearbox makes a remarkable return, complete with features like rev matching and no-lift-shift functionality. This decision may have been influenced by the enduring popularity of manual transmission models, particularly the older generation CTS-V, including the coveted wagon variant, which continues to hold its value well. It's anticipated that up to 25 percent of CT5-V buyers will opt for the manual transmission, according to product marketing manager Ken Kornas via Car & Driver.

 2. 2024 Cadillac CT4 V-Series Blackwing Sedan

The CT5’s little brother that still maintains an aptness for track performance and everyday use, aims to combat the 3-series with a twin-turbo V6 good for 472 horsepower, and 445 pound-feet of torque, is also in its 3rd model year featuring a 6-speed manual alongside a 10-speed automatic.

3. 2024 Chevrolet Camaro

The 6th Generation (and unfortunately, final, as a gas-powered vehicle) began in 2016, and concludes this year. Any of the engines, 2.0 I4 (offered until this year) 3.6 V6, and the 6.2 LT1 V8 could be mated to an available 6-speed manual transmission.

4. 2022 Chevy Spark

The tiny city car sold in America from 2012-2022 could be purchased with the 5-speed manual transmission during the entirety of its run. Shifting on your own could still get you 38 MPG on the highway, which is still no slouch when commuting amongst the newest small cars.

5. 2019 Cadillac ATS & ATSV

Predecessor to the CT4, the ATS was Cadillac’s entry level sedan positioned under the CTS and available in a coupe as well as a sedan. As it ran from 2013 to 2019, it had a variety of naturally aspirated and turbocharged 4- and 6-cylinder engines, but a manual transmission could be paired with the ATS-V's turbocharged 3.6L V6 or the base ATS’ turbocharged 2.0L I4.

6. 2019 Chevy Sonic

From 2012-2019, A step up from the Spark would be the Sonic, a slightly roomier subcompact, with little allure in its history besides being barrel rolled over a giant skateboard by professional skateboarder and Reality TV Personality Rob Dyrdek. A 5-speed manual could be found as an option to the 1.8L naturally aspirated I4, while a 6-speed was available with the turbocharged 1.4L.

7. 2014 CTS & CTSV (2nd Generation)

The second-generation CTS-V could be had in a sedan, coupe, or wagon configuration, making it a very sought-after generation that have retained their value substantially. Both the CTS-V and base CTS could be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

8. 2016 Buick Verano

A choice you definitely weren’t expecting, the 2013MY brought both a turbocharged 2.0L 4 cylinder engine with an optional 6-speed manual. Buick rated this setup to make 250 HP and 260 TQ, creating a lively, but unlikely, enthusiast package that last until its 2017MY.

9. 2020 Buick Regal

Buick’s premium mid-sized sedan was available with a manual transmission in the CXL Turbo and sport-oriented GS trims starting in 2011 and was the first Buick to offer a manual transmission since the Buick Skyhawk in 1989. The GS was a particularly exciting model that ran alongside the Regal nameplate until 2020 and making over 300 HP in its final iteration.

10. 2017 Chevy SS

The Chevy SS, or a rebadged Holden Commodore across the pond, featured the powerful LS3 V8 out of the C6 Corvette and an optional 6-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, the SS never seemed to catch on as a non-luxury V8 Muscle Sedan amongst buyers. Special mention to the 2008-09 Pontiac G8, which was also an earlier iteration of a U.S. market Commodore, that could be fitted with a manual with V6 and V8 engine configurations.

BONUS: 2018 Chevy Colorado

The Last truck the GM produced with a manual in the US market was the Chevy Colorado and its sibling GMC Canyon, which could be fitted with a manual transmission but only on rear-wheel-drive WT and LT trim levels. The option faded away for the 2019MY.

With that in mind, what vehicles would you still want with a manual transmission offered today?
